AM9017
0.1 to 18 GHz Miniature Tuner Module
Recommended for New Designs
Product Overview
AM9017 is a fully integrated mini-module comprised of MMIC and MCM devices that provide a complete high dynamic range miniature tuner module covering the 0.1 GHz to 18 GHz frequency range. The tuner module is designed for high performance and low size, weight, and power (low SWaP) and is easily mounted to a host circuit board for use in multi-channel receiver applications.
Sub-octave preselectors, pre-amplifiers, local oscillators, frequency converters, power and control line filtering, a temperature sensor and a control FPGA are included. The analog IF output frequency is centered at 1 GHz with a 500 MHz bandwidth. Multiple tuner sets can be configured to work together for coherent operation and N-channel applications. Interfacing to the tuner is accomplished by simply providing an RF input, DC voltages, frequency reference, SPI control, and routing the IF output.
The AM9017 is recommended to have an IF filter and driver amplifier stage after the tuner before your A/D converter. Atlanta Micro provides the AM3073A for this explicit purpose. For more details visit it’s product page available at the link to the left.

Evaluation board includes SMA input and output connectors, SMA reference input, and a single SMA voltage input. AM9017 evaluation board requires software control via a USB module provided on the evaluation board. Included with the evaluation board is a graphical interface for control of the module and a user manual showing how to operate the module using the provided GUI. Reference input can be either 10 MHz from your test equipment or a 100 MHz direct from a signal generator. Evaluation board includes one AM9017 unit mounted to the board.
